Description

:iconcolliding-of-paths:

Name:
 Goldentuft

Age: 32 Moons

Gender: Male

Clan: Groveclan

Rank: Medicine Cat

Breed: Maine Coon Tabby Mix

Personality:

|Stubborn| - |Witty| - |Bitter| - |Kind at Heart| - |Stern| - |Foul-Mouthed|

|Stubborn|- Goldentuft is hard to persuade for a way other than his own. He is hardly wrong when he hisses out a statement and hates any sort of conflict against his own word.

|Witty|- Hardly one to keep to himself, Goldentuft always has a sly or Witty remark to things stated to him, rarely is he speechless.

|Bitter|- Rarely found smiling, this tom normally has a bitter demeanor. Ask him why he's always so cranky and snappy, he will shift his eyes in the direction of a single cat then state nothing and to mind your own, and I quote, "StarClan damned business." with a hiss and a swift turn of his back. Some past event must have turned him colder, perhaps a death or a shift of responsibilities.  He doesn't enjoy discussing his becoming of a Medicine Cat.

|Kind at Heart|- This hard rock has a soft core of kittens. Something about them being so small and helpless, in need of assistance and a gentle touch, makes him purr and want to cuddle them. At rare times, he will tone down his negative aspects and mellow out for others, only when he is in a good mood, or the mood is fitting.

|Stern|- He will not hesitate to put an apprentice/warrior in his or her place. He won't stand being talked down to or made to feel like a lower individual.

|Foul-Mouthed|- Every insult known to Cat-Kind has been spewed from his golden mouth since he spent most of his time with his father, if not, with Quailfrost. He often uses it as insults or to express his moods for any given moment.

History

Kithood:

As a kit, Goldentuft was a rambunctious ball of fur. He would always tease and taunt the older and smaller kits alike. His father and mother would often times be caught arguing over him, for example, like father like son, the two were sharp tongued and smart mouthed in both ways. His father would never correct it however, his mother was never quiet about it and was quite vocal in her displeasure of how Brambletail was raising their kit. With the rift within his family, Goldenkit sought out friendship with another kit in the nursery that shared a likeliness in personality with him. Do to this, he didn't tease her as meanly has he did to the other kits and considered her a good friend.

Apprenticeship:

Not much changed about Goldentuft in his apprenticeship from his kithood. Goldenpaw carried the same sharpness of his tongue and often threw his weight around when it came to other apprentices. He had befriend Quailpaw more so during this time along with a few tom apprentices. While being trained bu Russetclaw, his mentor, the clan medicine cat, Robinfeather, would often interrupt them in attempts to talk to Goldenpaw, whom would always refuse. From time to time,  Robinfeather would call for his nephew to assist him with herb gathering as he had no apprentice and didn't wish to elect one. While being forced to help, Goldenpaw would receive an earful of knowledge about the different herbs and what they do. Robinfather would claim that her was merely reciting them allowed for himself, but with the hidden motive of implanting it into Goldenpaw's mind. During an altercation with a rogue cat, Goldenpaw received a healthy swipe across his face, earning the four claw marks over his muzzle. This forced him to remain with his uncle for longer periods of time until he recovered. Within this time, Robinfeather didn't shy away from teaching the young injured tom the ways of a medicine cat, hinting at wanting him as his apprentice.

Warriorhood:

A warrior at last, Goldenpaw was given the name of Goldentuft. He had grown wonderfully in size and strength with an equaling determination in being the best warrior there ever was for his clan, eventually hoping with ambition to be clan deputy and leader one day, 'Goldenstar', he'd often think of that name within his own mind. As a young warrior he was often boastful and mouthy, energetic and eager. He'd grown closer with Quailfrost as she had become a warrior a moon after him, the two seemed inseparable. Goldentuft would be seen lounging around with the she-cat if not, on the same hunting patrol as her or patrol in general, those were the only times he'd be seen cracking a laugh or smile on his scarred face. Robinfeather was relentless with pestering the tom as he grew from his teens to early twenties, noticeably growing weaker as Goldentuft grew stronger.  The stubborn russet tom refused to take an apprentice, as his desired choice was his nephew since the day he was born. One unfortunate return to camp, a blood chilling screech sounded from the medicine cat den. Out of concern for his kin, Goldentuft was the first to respond and stop dead in his tracks at the site of an adder entangled with Robinfeather, whom was covered in deep bite marks. The tom lunged towards the venomous creature without hesitation and bit behind it's head to kill it, pulling it from his shivering and convulsing uncle. It was there infront of the clan that Robinfeather uttered under his dying breath to the current leader that Goldentuft was the only cat with medicine cat knowledge therefore being the only one to take over his position. Frozen with horror and pain, Goldentuft knew he couldn't decline and leave his clan in need of an experienced cat. Though he knew what he would be leaving behind with a heavy heart as he turned his head towards Quailfrost...

Medicine Cat Legacy:

No longer a warrior, Goldentuft was forced into the rank of Medicine Cat, being the most experienced cat in the clan, subconsciously taught by Robinfeather, he was the only one illegible for the position. It was around this time he had began to grow bitter and cranky, his eyes always hardened and narrowed, rarely ever a smile seen on his muzzle. It wasn't until a few moons later did Quailfrost become Deputy to the clan. Envy plagued Goldentuft for days  after the ceremony though he was all the same happy for his friend. Often times, he would be seen looking over camp with Quailfrost, passing whispers and snorts of humor silently. He could never return to the past he wished to have as a Warrior, which continues to weigh down his moods every chance it gets. He refuses to discuss his becoming of a Medicine Cat without being sharp tongued about it or hissing. He has become most secretive with the new rank and more experienced as the moons passed on. In his mind, he'd tell himself he was the ultimate cat, being trained as a warrior but made into a medicine cat, purely only to crack a smile and snort of laughter randomly to himself to make better of his situation.

Roleplay Example:

Sitting within the roomy den, the air thick with the scent of herbs and medication, a golden furred tom sat with his back turned to the entrance, soft muttering echoing from around him as his jaws chomped softly on a poultice he was working on. The sound of paw steps earned his attention as he turned his head to look over his shoulder, it was the young tom Rabbitstep again, covered in brambles and cuts as he averted his gaze from the sharp eyed tabby. "Again." was the single word uttered from the golden furred tom as he shifted in his nest to face Rabbitstep, a scornful and distasteful stare. "I-I Slipped Goldentuft, the rain makes it difficult for hunting near the bramble bushes.." The tabby tom hissed and sat himself close in front of the young tom, narrowing his eyes as his mouth opened to speak, causing Rabbitstep to shrink back as if feeling his harsh words already. "Just how mouse-brained are you? Do you think you're a bramble bush? Do you feel the need to be among you're own kind or something? You're more bramble than cat, just look at you." he growled, pulling thorns out of Rabbitstep's fur as he applied the poultice to the cuts. "Is that what you want to be? You must have crowfood for brains, perhaps your father dropped you on your head as a kit, in a bramble bush. You know the rain is no excuse, you were out with Rosetail and Honeynose again mooning weren't you? Maybe if you didn't spend most of your small amounts of pathetic attention on mooning over she-cats you wouldn't be a walking bramble bush. That's your name now. Bramblebush Mooney Cat." he gave the smaller tom an earful of his foul-mouth as he finished treating him. With a low his, Rabbitstep pinned his ears back in embarrassment, "Aren't medicine cats supposed to be sympathetic and sweet?" Goldentuft stared him in the eyes deeply, "Aren't warriors supposed to be smart and strong?"
